After an AMAZING few days in Kruger Park (see photos of Kruger here), we traveled back to Johannesburg. On the way home, we drove through the gorgeous Drakensburg Mountains making stops at ‘God’s Window’ and the potholes of the Blyde and Treur Rivers. Honestly, photos don’t do the mountains justice. It’s something you have to be there to see and experience in person to get a full feel for the breathtaking beauty.
After our return from Kruger and the Drakensburg Mountains, we spent some time in Johannesburg. We had so much fun looking and shopping at the African markets. We all wanted to bring something African back to the States, whether a painting, piece of jewelry, beadwork, or sculpture. It was a little tough going through the markets and wanting to be able to support every seller there. After many hours of shopping, we all came home with something neat, something that will always be representative of the uniqueness of African arts and culture, and a reminder of the amazing time we had in Africa.
Two more entries to come: The Lion Park and Cape Town!
