Charlotte | Wow. I knew that when we first met with Laura we were going to have a lot of fun with her. Before I get into the details of her amazing bridal session, let me give you some background on her and her newly married husband, Seth who were married just a few weeks ago. They are both huge fans of super heroes, particularly DC Comics. Laura’s absolute favorite is Batman, and in high school her friends started giving her Batman themed gifts including a Batman signal belt buckle that she wore just about every day and it got to the point that if people in high school didn’t know her name they would just call her Batgirl. Seth was a huge comic book fan and associated himself mostly with the character Nightwing. The characters are sort of fictional role models to the two of them, about how ordinary people can do extraordinary things to help people.
When talking to Laura, she wanted to portray this Comic theme throughout her bridal session, their engagement and the wedding. (If you haven’t definitely check out their engagement here) We chose Uptown for her bridal. To continue the theme, she included a bouquet hand-made from comic book pages as well as a mask which she designed and made also. She also included gloves, which she painted yellow, and a utility belt, which was all part of the Batgirl costume. I also loved her knee high Converse All Stars!
We wanted to portray Laura’s natural beauty in juxtaposition with the bold and edgy super hero theme in the bridal session. She did an amazing job, was willing to try any of my ideas, and had a great ideas herself. I am proud to have worked with her and thrilled to share these images! Check back soon for their Super-hero and carnival themed wedding…
