South Africa Part III – The Lion Park

I can’t believe three months have already passed since our South Africa trip. We had an amazing time in Kruger Park (if you missed those photos, see here) as well as our drive through the Drakensburg Mountains (see photos here). Our time at Kruger Park was unlike any other experience; however we never spotted any of the big cats. Kruger Park covers hundreds and hundreds of miles, and it is more on the unlikely side that you would spot any of the cats. We did catch a tiny glimpse of a leopard’s paw, but our sighting was limited by the trees and dim light. We thus decided to drive through the Lion Park…and it lived up to its name! We drove through the lion’s grounds, within the fences. We were awe struck by these big cats. The sheer power they example as well as their glorious beauty was so impressive. We also visited the lion cubs and got to meet them up close and personal. In addition, we fed some giraffes and came across a few cheetahs. The Lion Park was a very memorable part of our trip!

The cubs acted just like lazy house cats, only a LITTLE more intimidating!  We were impressed with the size of their paws at such a young age. Big sleepy heads…I think we were interrupting their midday naps….. =D

Sorry hunni, we can’t take him home for a pet! =D

Just one more post left – the beautiful city of Cape Town.
